In aligning with what God has put on my heart, I am starting this podcast! Although I usually go by Mrs. Melanin when doing all things creative, I wanted to use my real name for this because it’s time for me to unplug, let you get to know me better, and get real! (You can also catch me with my hubby, Beleaf Mel/Glen on How Married Are You?! Podcast). But before I start, I wanted to give you a proper introduction!
My husband and I have four children, Theo, Uriah, Anaya, and Uziah (more on their names at a later time), and we have a family YouTube Channel called Beleaf in Fatherhood. We share a lot of our lives online through that channel and our podcasts, as well our social media platforms. So I am simply a wife and mom sharing my world!
This podcast has been something God has been putting on my heart, and I wanted to be obedient in that. I wanted to share my life as a woman because it can be hard, especially if you’re a mom, not to get lost in all the roles we are trying to fulfill. I want this to be an outlet where I can share my thoughts and experiences with you.
Plugged as a verb means to block or fill in, and I want to fully unplug. I want this to be a space where I am honest with myself and those who follow me while sharing my struggles as a woman, a wife, and a mom. I’ve had my blog for years, and while I love it, sometimes it takes a good chunk of time to type and proofread, so this space allows me to simply talk.
As I continue reflecting inwards, I want to be able to talk out the things I am reading, seeing, watching, etc and process the deep thoughts I am having in a community that can bless others.
